Gwen Ex Nurse passes away. Mrs Gwen Edwards passed peacefully away on July 21, 2019, aged 94 years. She grew up at Burcot, near Wellington, where her Father was a Policeman for many years. She attended Wrockwardine Infants School and later progressed to Wellington Girls High School. It was from here that Gwen followed her lifelong dream and went to train as a Nurse at the Derby Royal Infirmary, this was at the time of the Second World War and much of her work was involved in the care of wounded soldiers returning from battles overseas. She was deeply dedicated to her profession and always spoke with pride and passion of the patients and people she had met and cared for over the years. Around this time Gwen also got married to Ern Edwards who was serving in The Royal Marines. She continued Nursing until the War was over. A few years later she returned to Wrockwardine with her Husband Ern and their four Children Robert, Christine, Tony and Cheryl. After many happy years watching her Children grow up, she then moved to Shrewsbury, where she lived for the past 45 years.

When Gwen passed away she was surrounded by her Family who say they will always love her and cherish the happy memories they have shared with her forever. All inquiries to:
