In 1989 Richard put in for a transfer to Shrewsbury, this year he met Diane at The Buttermarket and made Shropshire his home.

Richard and Diane married in 1999 in Las Vegas at The Chapel of The Bells, Nevada and became proud Parents in 2000 when Josephine was born, their Family was made complete with the birth of their son Oscar in 2005.

Diane, Josephine and Oscar would like to thank Family, Friends, Neighbours, Postmen, Bellringers and the many Customers on Richard's postal rounds for their kindness and support, for the beautiful flowers, cards caring thoughts and the wonderful bellringing on the day.

Thank you for your attendance at the Funeral Service, some had travelled far from Windsor, Reading, Swansea, Weston-Super-Mare and all across Shropshire and Powys, it meant so much, thanks to those who wanted to be there on the day but could not make it. Richard would have been so pleased to know he was thought of so much, in his word 'thanks very much cheers, ears and cheerio'.

A big thank you to you all for the kind donations that have been given to Worthen School PTA, Worthen Ringers Bell Fund. Richard will be remembered in the hearts of many for his love of wildlife, music, Chelsea Football Club, bellringing and many interests. Rich loved his job, working outdoors, delivering mail and chatting to people on his rounds, he always left home with a smile and returned with the same smile, no matter what the day had brought.

A great lad, Rich who will be sadly missed by everyone that knew him, he always saw the funny side of everything, even when the day was not going well.
