BIRRELL Peacefully, at home, surrounded by his family, on Tuesday, October 7, 2014, after an illness borne with great courage and dignity, Ian Gordon Birrell, aged 71 years, Fairhaven Crescent, Cellardyke, and formerly manager/ proprietor of the Craws Nest Hotel, Anstruther, very dearly loved and loving husband of Elizabeth Clarke, very dearly loved dad of Liza and Ian, father-in-law of Alastair and Lindsay, a proud and devoted grandad of Scott and Julian, a very dear son of Louisa and the late John Birrell, and a dear brother, brother-in-law and uncle, and a good friend to all who knew him. Thanksgiving service at the Craws Nest Hotel, Anstruther, on Friday, October 17, at 2.30 p.m., to which all friends are respectfully invited. No flowers, please.
