PATERSON Mrs Sheila Paterson (nee McKenzie) of Cheltenham, England and Aberdeen, Scotland passed away peacefully in her sleep, on Friday, April 27, 2012. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald (Don) Paterson, Sheila leaves behind two cherished daughters, Laura and Linda, two admired sons-in-law, John and Roy, seven beautiful grandchildren, Polly, Jake, Ray and Millie, Louis, Callum and Talia, a true companion, Ernie Field and many, many great friends, colleagues and neighbours. Sheila was born in Aberdeen, Scotland, in 1936 and went on to become both `Miss Aberdeen' and `Miss Scotland' before marrying Don and moving to England. Sheila never forgot her Scottish roots, her beloved Aberdeen and her many true friends in the `Granite City'. Sheila had very fond memories of working at the Cheltenham & Gloucester Building Society, Martin's Newsagents and as a proofreader at the Gloucestershire Echo. Sheila brought a little bit of sunshine into the lives of all whom she met and was truly one of life's characters. Sheila will be sadly missed but the sunshine, warmth and laughter she brought will stay in our hearts forever. All family, friends, colleagues and neighbours are welcome to attend the service to celebrate Sheila's life to be held at Cheltenham Crematorium, Friday, May 11, 2012, at 2.30 p.m. and afterwards for the `Sheilabration' at the Cheltenham Park Hotel, Cirencester Road, Cheltenham, at 3.30 p.m. to 6 p.m. The family requests that, if desired, donations kindly be made to the mental health charity, MIND, in lieu of flowers, either through the Funeral Directors, Mason & Stokes, Tudor Lodge, 54 Hewlett Road, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire GL52 6AH or whilst attending the service. Please direct any further enquiries to Joy Mason at Mason & Stokes. Telephone (01242) 224877.
