EILEEN (ROSE) SMITH We sat beside your bedside, Our hearts were crushed and sore, We did our best to comfort you, Till we could do no more. In tears we watched you sinking, We watched you fade away, And though our hearts were breaking, We knew you could not stay. Goodbye to you our sister, You deserve eternal rest, You cared so much for all of us, And always did your best. We wish that we could see you Eileen, For just a little while, We wish that we could hug you, And see your lovely smile, But wishing gets us nowhere, And longing is all in vain, So we'll hold you in our hearts, Until we meet again.
