The Funeral Service for Margaret Coward, of Shifnal, who passed away suddenly on November 27, 2009, aged 74 years, took place on Wednesday, December 16, at All Saints Church, Church Leigh.

The Service was conducted by Rev. Eric Last, prior to Cremation at Stafford Crematorium.

Margaret was born at Mill Farm Field, near Leigh and was educated at Friarsgate Boarding School in Derby. For many of her years Margaret resided at Silvermere Park, Shifnal.Margaret's first job was as a nanny, she worked for Mr Alcock, who was one of the first men to fly the Atlantic, she was also a model, an accountant at Shell and later became one of the top Avon Representatives, being a member of their Presidents Club, earning trips to the USA, Portugal and Monte Carlo, Margaret also worked at Guys Hospital in London.

She was a passionate grower of flowers, especially Dahlias, she also played a wide repertoire of music on the piano and enjoyed knitting, sewing, making her own clothes and she loved being at the seaside.

Margaret put everything and everyone before herself. She was so generous in fact, that she gave the most precious thing of all to help others, her own time. Because of her help and constant assistance herBrother Roy survived very serious cancer, saving his life. She was a devoted Mother to her Son Rory sharing in his interests.

Attending the Service were Family Roy Hollins (Brother), Rory Coward (Son), Rachael Coward (Daughter), Ivan Coward (ex Husband), Cousins William, John and Ruth Smith, Tom Stanier, representing Kath, John Hollins, representing Marjorie Hollins, Jean Hollins, Carolyn Hollins and Rosemary Fieldhouse.

Bearers were Rory Coward, Tom Stanier, John Hollins, Frank Williams.

Others present were Susan Maitland, Mary Hammersley, Hilda Platt, Mr E M Knobbs, Ken and Ruth West, Ruth Durose, John Whittaker, representing Kathleen Brough and Family, Paul Chidlow, Frank and June Williams, representing David and Sally Williams, Mrs Barbara Towson, representing Mrs Julia Souren, Miss Edwina Towson, Barbara Sargeant representing T G Sargeant & Sons, Mrs L Chester representing Ron Durose, Mr John Hulme.
