EMSLIE

Peacefully, after a long illness borne with his customary fortitude, courage and cheerful disposition, Basil Duncan Deans Emslie, OStJ, TD, JP (formerly of Gibson & Goold Limited then Engineering Industries Association), much loved father of Diane and grandfather of Caroline, Kevin and Fraser, passed away on 19 March, 2005, at St Margaret's Hospice, Clydebank surrounded by the love of his family. He will be fondly remembered by his legions of friends in the Order of St John, the Rotary Club of Glasgow, Airborne Association, Royal Artillery Association, 51st Highland Division Club, Killearn Kirk, Aberdeen GSFP Club, Engineering Industries Association, Lodge James Watt, Mugdock Residents Association, Strathblane Bowling Club, Drymen Bridge Club and Western Hockey Club. Our sincere thanks to Sister Rita and her wonderful team at St Margaret's for making his final days so comfortable. A memorial service to celebrate Basil's life will be held at Killearn Kirk, at 11.00 a.m., on Saturday, 26 March, 2005 followed by interment at Killearn Cemetery to both of which his many friends are all welcome. Family flowers only please, donations if desired to St Margaret's Hospice.
